I got to stick to my diet

11 04 2007

I am planning on going to Florida after training in May with Andy and I havent lost much weight. I just rode my bike an hour ago and I feel great. I have to try and convince Andy to continue riding with me same time every day. He likes to go to the gym and work out with his boy and lift weights and all that corny stuff but he needs to work out with me. Because, again, I did not pay all this money on this bike and dont ride it. I hope I ride again 2morrow.

Today, work was great. I love not being on the phone and I like my educator. She’s cool. We had meetings basically all day and I ate like a pig. My job sells these “homemade” chocolate chunk cookies and they taste so good. My job sells 1 cookie for $1.38. I know its expensive but its good. And its not even a big cookie either. It’s an average size cookie.

I need to get with the program. I want to fit into my Jamaica bikini. I may not look banging in my bikini but as long as I dont have rolls, I’m fine. :-)

Tired x2

10 04 2007

I am tired of it all. I am happy with my job but I am not happy with the fact they are going to start charging us for parking. Cheap ass company. I believe in a company that is willing to bend over backwards for their employees because obviously, if the employees are treated well, the company does well. But somehow this new company doesnt understand the concept. I just want to win the lottery and move away somewhere…to another country. I am only happy because of my good health. It’s not great but its good because I’m alive. I am tired x2. And I am not going to take it anymore.

Ready for work

10 04 2007

I didnt post yesterday bc I had to sleep early for my new shift, 8am-5pm. I woke up this morning tired but it wasnt too bad. I was trying to get ready and leave on time so that I can avoid traffic and surprisingly there wasnt any. Hopefully, this isnt going to be a prob for me in the future. I am so excited. My educator is great. Her name is Brit. It looks like it going to be a great four weeks.

After work, Andy and I are supposed to ride our bikes. I hope he keeps his end of the bargain and ride with me. He was saying some ish about how he may go to the gym. Well Hello!, that’s not what we agreed on earlier. But we’ll see. I cheated a little yesterday. I had a craving for Chinese food for the last couple of days and I ordered some. The good news is I didnt finish it so I didnt try to force feed myself and stretch my stomach. But the bad news is the food was horrible :-(. Anyways…

My Three Day Weekend

8 04 2007

Ok, I have a lot to write about, but I am not going to write a lot bc I’m tired. In short, on Friday Andy went to the dentist and good news is that he doesnt have any cavities and the dentist says he has the best “textbook” teeth. Even though she said the same thing to me, and probably to all of her patients, he felt so special. Whatever! Anyways, we were at the dentist for about 2 hours since he had to get x-rays done and his teeth cleaned. At about 2:00 pm, we finally made it to High Gear Cyclery to pick up our bikes.

Here’s…

We were so psyched with getting our bikes that the same evening we rode them. We weren’t used to our “clip-in” shoes and I ended up falling off the bike twice and Andy fell once. LOL! I was traumatized. I didnt want to ride my new bike anymore. Eventually, Andy convinced me to face my fears and I began to ride my bike. I have to get used to clipping and unclipping my shoes from the pedals.

On Saturday, Andy’s uncle swung by to ride with us. His uncle Jimmy has been riding for a few years now and that morning, I couldnt keep up with him or Andy. They were racing and riding so fast, I thought I was competing in the Tour de Jersey. Overall, we had fun.

To be continued….

8 04 2007

Later that day, Andy and I went to NYC to the Loews Theatre to watch the movie “300″ on IMAX. The movie was good but IMAX at Loews Theatre can not compare to the IMAX at Liberty Science Center in N.J. The screens are a lot bigger and they surround you. It gives you the illusion that you are a part of the movie. Anyways,

This is me…

In front of Lincoln Center

I didnt like the picture I took at the theatre, therefore I am not going to post it :-)

After the movie we decided to walk to Times Square. And it was so cold on Saturday, but I love walking and I didnt mind. We arrived at the Olive Garden and Andrew enjoyed his food. My food was ok, but our waitress was very nice and she was got me something else. I ordered chicken parmesan and I changed it for mussels di napoli. Overall, we had a good experience at the Olive Garden. Andy tipped her generously. From there we went home and we didnt get home until about 1:30 am and we watch Taxi Cab Confessions. I love that show. Two minutes later, I went to bed and Andy later followed.

Sunday Today

We woke up at 11am and we went bike riding. Andy and I rode at least 10 miles. I was very proud of myself. A few times I would ride my bike and I kept asking myself, “What did I get myself into?” The trail was tough and it was so cold and I didnt know how to “use” my bike. Since I was so used to cheap Walmart bikes, I now have to become acclimated to my Cannondale and learn how to shift gears. Anyways, we are both pleased with what we accomplished today.

Here’s…

Me after a good workout. I’m always wearing that sweatshirt.

After all of that riding, I ordered some wheat french toast with scrambled eggs from the local diner and I stayed home. The ride drained me. Later on, my hand began to hurt because I applied so much pressure to the lower part of my hand while I was riding. I think I have to get my seat adjusted.

Overall, I had a really great and productive weekened and I cant wait to start my new job/position on Tuesday. And keep up with riding my bike everyday this week.

Thank God it’s Thursday!

5 04 2007

Why Thursday? Because Friday I am off and I dont have to work this whole weekend. Andy is so psyched about going to the dentist and getting his bike. I cant wait either. I am upset at him, however, because he was supposed to bring me my ackee and saltfish to make for breakfast 2morrow morning. For those who dont know, ackee and saltfish is the traditional Jamaican breakfast. I love the food. I havent eaten ackee and saltfish since I left Jamaica. Oh well. I hope I have a taste of it again before I die.
