When I first heard this song, “Viva La White Girl” by Gym Class Heroes, I first thought the song was an ode to “white women” but after listening to it closely, it was about cocaine. LOL! What the heck! I heard the lyrics and Travis (the lead singer of the group) was saying…
“Take your razor, break down my line.
Put your nose to the speaker.
Now breathe in, breathe in…”
That’s crazy. But I love the song. Take a listen! Dont mind the “video” just listen.
GYM CLASS HEROES LYRICS
“Viva La White Girl”
Fame, fortune, platinum records.
It’s every boys dream.
True story.
Somebody asked me one time.
Travie, you high.
You look high.
Shit, yeah I’m high.
Let’s go.
The world is yours, so play the role.
Blow the dust off this record and put the needle down slow.
Our veins are cold, but we’ll never grow old.
Let’s have a toast, and raise our drinks.
No hearts on our sleeves, just eagles on our cuff links.
It’s such a rush to know you love me so much.
We’ll do whatever you want to.
Girl I’ll make a movie star of you.
You know that I could,
If you let me be your Hollywood.
We’ll get high, and hide.
We all lust to the glamorous,
white girl so fine.
Going up on the downtown line.
We’ll get high, and hide.
We all lust to the glamorous,
white girl so fine.
Going up on the downtown line.
Take your razor, break down my line.
Put your nose to the speaker.
Now breathe in, breathe in.
Clean up your nose, and face the crowd.
Then kiss your mirror cause we’re all stars now.
Isn’t it fun how music makes your lips numb?
We’ll do whatever you want to.
Girl I’ll make a movie star of you.
You know that I could,
If you let me be your Hollywood.
We’ll get high, and hide.
We all lust to the glamorous,
white girl so fine.
Going up on the downtown line.
We’ll get high, and hide.
We all lust to the glamorous,
white girl so fine.
Going up on the downtown line.
Take your razor, break down my line.
Put your nose to the speaker.
Now breathe in, breathe in.
We’ll get high, and hide.
We all lust to the glamorous,
white girl so fine.
Going up on the downtown line.
We’ll get high, and hide.
We all lust to the glamorous,
white girl so fine.
Going up on the downtown line.
Breathe in.
Breathe in.
Breathe in.
ETA: Music is like cocaine. I think i’m right this time.
On Sunday, I bought the latest Kanye West album, Graduation, and so far so good. It’s not surprising that it takes awhile for a cd to grow on me. I remember when I bought Jill Scott’s first cd and it took me about maybe two weeks to love every song on the album.
I only had West’s cd for about 3 days now and I already like about five songs. So that’s not bad. My favorite, besides the obvious hit Stronger, I love, love, love the song called “Flashing Lights”. I think this song is hot. For those who want to know what song I’m talking about, it’s #9.
Overall, I am enjoying the album. This is my first Kanye West cd. I am not a big fan of his but from what I hear, he’s a very good musician so I wanted to support. Hey! I may even buy his first two cds. It depends how I feel.
The song is growing on me and the video is good. Here’s the video for “Same Girl” featuring R. Kelly and Usher. The only problem I have with this video is that it’s not believable. R. Kelly knows this girl is too old for him and Usher likes older women. Who are these men trying to fool? Unfortunately, I cant post the video. I am having technical issues. I will when I can figure it out. Sorry
