Was touched by Gia

26 05 2008

This Memorial Day weekend was what I needed. I spent some time with some friends and I didnt want to leave but I had too, for work of course. Anyways, let me not worry about tomorrow and just cherish my still existing weekend.

On Saturday, my friends and I watched movies, at home, and there was one I really wanted to see called “GIA”, starring Angelina Jolie. I remember growing up hearing about this movie aboout a supermodel who died of drugs but I never watched it.

I watched the movie and it was so good but sad. I was really touched by her story. I told myself that as soon as I get home I will look her up to see her actual photos and read more about her.

She was very successful and she had a long career ahead of her. Her career came to a halt because of drug abuse and eventually she died of AIDS. Everyone should watch the movie and learn from her mistakes and DONT DO DRUGS!

Gia Marie Carangi died at age 26.

“Cockmeat sandwich”

4 05 2008

For those who dont know about the “cockmeat sandwich”, you will when you watch Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay. That movie was too funny. It was better than what I expected.

I have plans to watch Iron Man this coming weekend. I know since the movie just came out the theatres would be back… and it was. Plus, the tix were sold out. I have to time for that.

I wanted to “jump” out of the movie theatre.

18 02 2008

Andy and I went to the movies yesterday, in NYC, to watch Jumper. Jumper is by far THE WORST movie I’ve ever seen in my short life. This movie lacked substance and it just plain sucked. I will not even recommend this movie to my worst enemy (on second thought yes I would). And to top it off, I am even more pissy for paying $23 on this damn movie. My gosh. I wish I saw something else.

While watching the previews, I saw another movie that looks very interesting. It’s called WANTED. Check it out!

But I must admit, this movie reminds me of the Matrix. Oh well, I will be watching June 27th 2008.

My reason for watching

6 12 2007

I think Johnny Depp is a great actor but weird. And with his new movie, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street I thought it was interesting but I wasnt jumping off my seat to watch because I hear its a musical. But I may watch it only because again J.D. is a great actor but most importantly his co-star Helena Bonham Carter’s character name in the movie is, you guessed it, “Mrs. Lovett” :-).

No, I’m not self absorbed, but while I was growing up I always thought my name was unique and I that I was the only one with that name. And when I hear (or see) my name, I feel so special. Now I realize its more common than I thought but it’s still unique in comparison to other names.

Anyways, since I’m traveling next week and the movie doesnt come out until later this month, I will try to see it once I get back.

Big plans 2morrow

12 10 2007

While my bf is having fun in the City with some friends, I will be here working out. Its ok. I want my boyfriend to do things outside of “us”. But when he comes back he WILL be taking out to a dinner and movie. And I am looking forward to watching, “Why did I get married?”

Coming soon…

11 09 2007

Ironman is coming to a theatre near you on May 2, 2008. I mean I am looking forward to seeing Ironman, but not Robert Downey Jr. Come on, cant they find anyone else to play the part? I dont know, we’ll see. I’m still waiting for Hitman to come out. I want to see how Timothy Olyphant pulls off the ”Assassin”.

Whose playing Agent 47?

24 07 2007

I went to the movies, today, and as usual I watched some previews. I was happy to see that there was going to be a Hitman movie coming out. Hitman is based off the video games about a bald-headed assasin. Well it’s a little bit more than that, but this explanation is good enough for me. Anyway, my happiness grew to confusion when I realized that Timothy Olyphant was playing Agent 47. What?! Did they run out of good actors?

hitmanhitman

I mean no disrespect to Olyphant, but there are plenty of actors that can successfully fill the shoes of Agent 47. I first thought of Jason Statham, but i figured they may want someone who wasnt well known. Another suggestion from what I read on IMDB was for actor David Bateson to play Agent 47. I looked him up and he looks great for the part. I dont know. If this is legit I may NOT watch the movie, unless they were giving away tickets. The movie is set to premiere in October 2007.

ETA: On IMDB.com, it was noted that fans considered Jason Statham for the role of Agent 47, but he declined.

Long Day

24 07 2007

I woke up early this morning to attend a spinning class. Surprisingly, I lasted to the end. I’m very proud of myself. I worked till 6:45pm then I went with my old work team to watch a movie since we were top performing team last month. We watched Live Free or Die Hard and it was a very good movie. I really enjoyed it.

After the movie, I got home at about 10:20 pm and Andy came by to visit. He didnt come by to see me, he just came by to see MTV’s new television series called Room 401. We had our laughs. It was funny and scary. I set my dvr to record all the episodes. I will be watching. The only show I wont be recording anymore is Lil’ Bush. Surprisingly, it’s not all that funny. I dont laugh as much as I should. Only a few Hee Hee’s! here and there. But no Ha Ha’s! Very disappointed.
