Why did it take 2 hours to get my car inspected?
7 03 2007I woke up this morning and I look out the window and it was snowing. I’m like ok the DMV will be open still let me get this over with. Anyway, I started driving and since it was rush hour I decided to take the local route. Because of bad drivers and bad weather, it took me one hour to drive to the DMV. And the trip usually takes 20-25 minutes.

Now, on to the good part. There are two lines at the inspection station and I must pick one and wait to get my car inspected. This happens to me all the time because when you choose a line you must stay in that line, especially if there are cars behind you and you cant reverse to go to the faster line. Anyway, to my disbelief, I choose the slow line. I hate when I am waiting at the DMV, my car is burning gas and you have cars that come in after you having their car inspected first because they were lucky to pick the fast line. Now after about 40 minutes of waiting in line, I was asked to move my car forward.

Now to the best part of my day. While I was waiting in the booth to get my car inspected, the inspector walked to get my car and then I hear my horn being honked a couple of times. I didnt think anything of it because I thought he was checking to see if the horn worked. Then I hear the car horn again. I look at him and I see him waving at me. I’m getting worried now. I asked him what’s wrong and he tells me that my battery died. Great! Fantastic! Not only did I waste a lot of time at the DMV and I had to pee, this ish has to happen. :-).

Ok, now back to the drama. I asked him if I will fail inspection since this happened and he said, No I will take care of you dont worry. I was relieved but I didnt want to get my hopes up. So after he was pushing my new (used) car, he later got it started. He passed my car and IÂ was relieved. I am not sure what they did to my car, but luckily the problem was very minor. I am so glad I dont have to deal with the DMV until 2009.
